Cars in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Police mentioned they were notified by a resident who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Approximately 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations show the substance was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to its source; investigators are currently not cognizant of any harm in association with the occurrence," they added.

Local authorities stated they were working "to unravel the case" and have asked to the public for details.

An important representative stated the vandalism made him stunned and had to be addressed quickly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at residents of migrant background in 2020.
